More About Me

I have a unique set of skills- including teaching, sales, software development, and engineering secure networks- that can help protect your organization’s systems and sensitive information from digital attacks, communicate complex topics to clients, and drive sales.

Before my journey into CyberSecurity, I taught Language Arts. I have always enjoyed learning and working with new technologies. I won my school’s “Transformed Classroom” award in 2018, which is awarded to the teacher who most consistently leverages technology to maximize student outcomes.

I also became my school’s “Lead Innovator” representative. This role consisted of listening to my colleagues’ pain points, then demoing educational technology that could solve them. In 2020, I leveraged my knowledge of EdTech to teach over 100 students remotely.

After the 2020-2021 school year, I took a sabbatical. I traveled to Mexico to learn Spanish via immersion. Emboldened by that experience, I decided to try something I had always been interested in: programming.

I enrolled in the Python Techdegree program at Treehouse, and I was hooked. I also became excited by the career opportunities. My first job out of college was as a Sales Development Representative for Acuity.co, and I knew I could blend my sales, teaching, and programming experience to provide value.

When I graduated from the Techdegree program, I decided to specialize in CyberSecurity. I self-studied and earned the CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certificates, as well as the Splunk Core Certified User and Microsoft Azure 900 certificates. I then self-studied Linux, traffic analysis, ethical hacking, and how to use industry tools like Wireshark, Suricata, Metasploit, and Burp Suite. I published dozens of projects demonstrating my knowledge on my website.

I have a proven track record of working well with others, communicating effectively, creating and owning projects, taking on leadership roles, independently learning new skills, and ultimately adapting to whatever problems arise. I look forward to speaking with you about how I can contribute!
